China Harris is a Chicago-based artist and graphic designer. China’s love and enthusiasm for art began during childhood. At the age of 16, she participated in After School Matters' Painting on Canvas program in downtown Chicago at Gallery 37 Center for The Arts. Here is where she learned how to paint for the very first time. China has also worked for After School Matters as a teaching artist. She decided to give back to the community, instructing her own art programs, Wood Panel Drawing and Painting, and Experimental 2D Design.
China studied Studio Arts at Illinois State University, and later transferred to Columbia College Chicago in 2015, where she studied Fine Art and Graphic Design. China received her BFA degree in May, 2018. Currently, China is a Sole Proprietor, designing graphics and illustrations for clients. She also works at St. Sabina Academy as the 1st-3rd grade assistant teacher, and at Prairie Childcare as the 2nd and 3rd grade lead teacher.
